yarn information

Alpaca fibre is celebrated for its exceptional softness and elegant flow, offering a texture akin to sheep’s wool yet surpassing it in warmth, gentleness, and being non-irritating to the skin.

Alpaca wool offers a superior alternative to traditional wool, boasting greater warmth and a lighter feel, all without the presence of lanolin. This natural wool grease, common in regular sheep’s wool, contributes to its ability to repel water. Despite lacking lanolin, alpaca wool still possesses water-resistant qualities. Additionally, its lanolin-free nature renders it highly hypoallergenic, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin.

Yarns made from Alpaca or blended with Alpaca fibres are ideal for crochet and knitting, providing clear stitch patterns that enhance both knitting and crocheting creations. These yarns are particularly suited for garments intended to be worn directly against the skin due to their luxurious feel.

Care Instructions

Hand wash using a mild wool detergent, ideally below 30°C, avoid wringing and twisting. Dry flat out of direct sunlight, do not spin or tumble dry.

5  Reasons why you should buy in Bulk

Purchasing hand-dyed yarn in bulk offers several benefits.

  • 1

Cost Savings : Buying in bulk typically reduces the cost per unit, making it more economical for avid artisans or small business owners.

  • 2

Color Consistency : Bulk purchases can ensure a consistent color batch as dye lots vary, this is crucial for larger projects requiring uniformity. Buying in bulk from the same dye lot reduces the risk of noticeable differences in shades.

Unique Variations : Hand-dyed yarns offer unique color variations, making each project distinct and personalized. Having a larger supply on hand encourages creativity and flexibility in knitting or crocheting projects, as there is ample yarn for experimentation and larger pieces. No more limiting yourself to knitting or crocheting smaller items.

  • 4

Support for Artisans : By purchasing hand-dyed yarn, buyers support the artisans and their craft, contributing to the sustainability of their businesses.

  • 5

Quality and Sustainability : Bulk buying leads to a reduction in packaging waste, contributing to environmental sustainability. Our Collection of hand-dyed yarns come from high-quality, sustainable sources, ensuring a superior product that is environmentally conscious.
